Apple reportedly working on Snapchat clone app for social media

Apple is working on a new video sharing app that allows users to save, apply designs, and filter media, like Snapchat.

Apple is getting into the social media business. Bloomberg reports that the company is testing an app that essentially allows iPhone users to record videos while adding filters and text to content, much like Snapchat.

According to Bloomberg Mark Gurman, users can record, edit, and download video in less than a minute. He breaks it down further below:

Apple begins to develop a video sharing app that allows users to record videos, apply filters and drawings to media – much like Snapchat does – and send them to contacts or through social networks. existing ones such as Twitter Inc., according to people familiar with it. with its evolution. The software is currently designed to be used primarily with one hand and with the intention that the video can be shot, edited and downloaded in under a minute, the people said. At least one of the app’s prototypes would turn a video into an Instagram-like square shape, one of the people said.

The goal behind the development of the project is to offer simple video editing with tools that appeal to the generation of users growing up with Snapchat and Instagram.

Apparently they’re trying to push this for a 2017 release. It also means that the project can be scrapped if it doesn’t meet expectations and, of course, its deadline.
