Yuri84, 20 minutes agoI recommend that you sync your phone to the cloud as a backup. So you won’t get lost… moreWhy not use cloud backup AND microSD card? This way you have all the advantages; easy-to-upgrade local storage (sd), reliable off-network availability (sd), fast file access times (sd), fast swap (sd) as well as off-site (cloud) backup. A good quality microSD has never failed me for almost two decades, and there are even more durable or MLC-based ones.

It’s not just one or the other. It’s about having choices instead of dumbing down devices.

Anonymous, 33 minutes agoAverage User: People who don’t need or want things Snapdragon 8+g1, 12/16GB RAM, 256/5… moreAnd what does the average user buy most often? The flagship, right? Which mostly come with puny storage options and no microSD support, ironically. Also, if they had the option of buying it with more storage and microSD slot support for the same price or just a slight increase, most would. The average user is more demanding than you might think. But being forced to buy models without a microSD slot, the average user will not do anything about it. Saldy

ALPHABOY17, 3 hours agoI remember my galaxy a5 2016. The screen of this phone suddenly went blank, despite the glass… moreI recommend that you sync your phone to the cloud as a backup. So you won’t lose your files if something happens to the phone. Also microSD cards tend to die sometimes, this happened to me once.

As for the dead screen, you can usually still connect your phone to the PC and sync files that way. Or you can fix it without doing a factory reset and save your files. But I would still prefer to be on the safe side and keep a backup of the phone.

Anonymous, 30 minutes agoNo, you need a life.It needs more than 2 TB because it already has a life! With many great memories recorded in high resolution photos and videos. And a rental music collection. And the freedom to add many more in the future. Always available on the go on the microSD card, regardless of network speed and coverage. Something wrong with that? What do you think?

AnonF-1006353, 1 hour agoWhat is an average user?Average user:

People who don’t need or demand things Snapdragon 8+ g1, 12/16 GB RAM, 256/512/1000 GB storage, 120/144/240 Hz display, 65/80/100/120 charging /200/250 W, multiple cameras so you can complain about the price later.

These are the folks who can easily handle things like SD450/480, 2/3GB RAM, 32/64GB storage, single camera, 60Hz HD LCD, 15W, 3800mAh battery.

JES, 2 hours agoA slit would be nice, but I favor sealing over that. The MicroSD slot has nothing to do with waterproofing, otherwise all waterproof phones might not even have a SIM card slot.

My phone right now is Motorola G100, snapdragon 870 with headphone jack and micro sd slot… I use the jack every day with Sony headphones, and I already put a 64gb card slot in it interior plus 256 GB internal memory. If this phone dies I don’t know what phone I would buy.. Sony is unfortunately too expensive for me..

I think this is a useless poll.

Most new smartphones do not have an SD card slot.

Ask the manufacturers to add one to see if you can do this kind of survey.

Samath N8 808 owner, 1 hour agoYa, somehow instead of letting people choose what they want, they indirectly debate… moreTotally agree up to the point of the removable batteries. What do you mean? Because they are really an advantage if it comes to not having to use a powerbank or battery box on the go, just change the battery. In addition to being able to easily replace them when they weaken after a few years. Also, if done well, it will not impact the waterproofness, if the battery box is separated from other protected areas. It won’t need to be a thick layer for this either. They could therefore be built as compact as today. That would be real engineering, not fancy emoji features. But yeah they like to do less and charge higher prices these days, all greed and politics
